Hey guys I really need your help. My computer says that my boot device cannot be found, but when I choose what device I want it to boot from, it automatically boots. I have it listed at the top of the boot order.

My computer is an HP p7-1227c, Please Help!

There's a small coin battery on the MB that keeps the CMOS memory refreshed for booting. But your HP is still fairly new from the model number you listed. Not likely the battery would need replacing yet... unless it was bad.
If you scroll down in this link to the pic of the MB: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.prp_ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c03348828-13%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.tpst=ba847bafb2a2d782fcbb0710b053ce01&sp4ts.oid=5187022&ac.admitted=1403923275361.876444892.199480143
...you'll see a round grey thing. That's it.

Voltmeter will tell you if it has the correct voltage range. (3V) But even a weak battery may show 3V if there's no load on it. So basically, no. But they are cheap to replace. Any Wall mart carries them.
