Hello, I've recently replaced my gtx 660 with an R9 290 and my motherboard is stuck when trying to boot up. I have unistalled all nVidia drivers and registries. My computer will load if the HDMI is put into the mobo. The driver CD that came with the card will not work unless the card is plugged into the system and detected. Specs -> http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6Q96qs . Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Update: The card lights up and the fans spin when plugged into the PCIE slot. And yes, the power is connected.

Could be your power supply , never heard of xion and looking on the Internet nor have a lot of people. It says 1000w but wouldn't be surprised if you only got around half that. You could try putting in your old card and if that works then your it narrows it down to gpu or psu. If you can get a different psu to try it. A good quality one otherwise you may have problems. I have also foun the power supply has 6 rails so you may have to check your manual as it could matter what pcie connectors you use
