Hello,

I recently build a new PC for myself which uses. NZXT 220, i5 4670K, Intel stock coolers and I notice that if I run the PC for many days continuously or if CPU is excessively taxed, there is a vibration noise coming from PC.

Oddly enough, if I keep my hand on the case and press it, the noise stops. To find the source of the noise, I removed front of the case and now the noise is gone.

It bothers me little bit. Everything has been running smoothly though. Even under load CPU temperature is - 56ºC max (Which I hear is not too bad for haswell). Idle temp of CPU is - 31ºC or so.

I have been trying to figure out, what could be making the noise, so far it sounds like:

a. Mounting screws on which motherboard is mounted?
b. I thought it could be CPU fan, but that does not seem so.
c. Some people on reddit mentioned because this cases uses all metal screws and contact points, A lose hard drive mount can cause rhythmic hum.

Has anyone seen this before on NZXT 220 series case?

Just out of curiosity, try placing your hand right by the PSU. Also put your ear by it. My case did the same thing, and I found that it was the PSU.

You can test each fan by putting your finger on the hub. It will slow the fan, which will alter the noise output.
