I was working or on facebook should I say on my laptop everything was fine my windows gave me a notification to update it so I did naturally when finished it wanted to reboot so I allowed it to reboot but then I just closed the lid and went to bed. Next morning I tried to boot my laptop up and now it's blinking from a black screen with a white cursor in the top left screen then 3 seconds it blinks to the "Lenovo" boot up screen with BIOS and Intel on it for 2 seconds then back to the black screen with cursor. I tried manually rebooting it but same thing. I tried taking the battery out and replacing it but still same thing. I tried all the F keys none of them work. I was told to hold down the f keys I tried one by one and all I get it beeping still nothing happens. I tried to copy my husbands laptop windows on a disk thinking I can reinstall or repair windows but that was a no go. So my laptop just sits there and blinks back and forth with the same two screens. It's a Lenovo G570 windows 7 64 bit. I don't understand how can windows random update cause my computer to do this and I can't find anything in the search engines to help me at all. Should I just chunk my laptop and buy a new one? Is it worth even taking it in a shop?? Apparently safe mode doesn't work because none of the F keys work. The windows repair/copy I have doesn't do anything. What else am I missing?? I do not want to take my laptop physically apart. If it will cost me more than 50 bucks to fix it's not worth it. I've had this laptop since 2010-11ish it's been through everything with me and I have TONS of stuff on it but it was dependable. Physically the hinges were breaking though and the cover on the keyboard was starting to pop off...it's a shame that the software was lasting longer than the hardware. Like I said it was working just fine until I agreed to a windows update then forced a reboot and now it's like Microsoft killed my laptop. Probably to force me to spend more money in buying a new one...conspiracy I tell ya..lol.

And how would I do that? Not to mention I don't really care if I lose any files in fact it wouldn't bother me much if I could just get it in working order. By your response I am thinking you are telling me my computer is dead and I should just transfer my files to a desktop. Am I correct?

Have you tried pressing the DEL key to access the BIOS?

If you can get to BIOS and change the dvd drive to being the first boot device you may be able to start a repair from a dvd

My earlier message is simply that even is windows never functions again you may not have lost all your data . Desktop computers usually have spare sockets to plug in hard drives and that may be the easiest way if you need those files
