Re: Hirens
The purpose of a "Boot CD" is to give you a way for your computer to start when its own 'native' boot process is malfunctioning; the theory being that it's kinda hard to fix something when you can't get TO it. I am assuming you saw a video that was showing off some of the many utilities that ALSO come in the Hirens package...it can be quite the confusing array of titles...
Hirens has several utilities that are purposed simply to get your computer going, just enough to get back into BIOS & fix the boo-boo...which sounds like just what you need, aye?
BTW...do you have the original OS installation disc for your system? Many of them ALSO have a boot utility. All you have to do to begin is put the CD in, and see if it responds...

Did you try to start it in "SAFE MODE"? The procedure may vary between different OS's, but with XP I tap the F8 key while it's starting. You then land on a selection page, where you'll need to navigate with the arrow keys to choose "Start in SAFE mode". But then you'll need to get back to BIOS...
Another option may be using a emergency boot disc. Used to be that the OS installation disc would also act as an emergency boot CD. Failing this, you can possibly get what you need on the 'net (Hiren's Boot CD, perhaps?)...but of course, you'll need to ask for the assistance of a friend & THEIR functional computer to burn the disc... May GOD guide your steps...

Hey, I saw the Hiren's Boot CD videos. But according to me, it will be useful when the computer can boot. I am experiencing a problem, when i power my computer, the screen remains blank and cabinet does not show that there is any process running ( it indicates through a small red light ). Can the Hiren's Boot CD help my computer to boot?
