Look, I know there's a ton of these threads, but things vary

these crashes happen at different times, mostly in games however.

The computer black screens, the fans speed up and the audio stutters, so I think they are TDR crashes as I have to manually power it down and then start it up again.
These only started happening a couple months ago.

I need help in trying to stop these TDR crashes.

System Specs:
CPU: i7 860 (2.8GHz, 8 core)
Memory: 12 GB DDR3
MOBO: Gigabyte H55-UD3H
GPU: Nvifia GTX 560Ti
PSU: not sure what make but it's a modular 750W

What is the memory part number? Did you purchase it as a kit of three modules?

What is the make & model number of the power supply? There is a label on the side of it.

What operating system are you using?

"individual 4gb sticks"

That is not guaranteed to work together. You might try using just one DIMM. The Memory Clock and DRAM Timings are for a single stick not three. You might get the three DIMMs working by running at a slower Memory Clock.

Mixing individual sticks together may cause compatibility issues such as unable to boot or unable to operate at rated specifications.
