My PC started powering off once or twice - before post - every time i turn it on -in short: it restarts with a cold powerdown and power on and goes up until before post, then it does it again and the third time around it just turns on normally-. It all started when i unplugged the PC and then plugged it back on a few hours later. Interesting is the fact that it does not reboot when i turn it off and on within 5-10 minutes, but when it's about longer intervals, i experience that problem.

I also heard that the term is double pump? Not quite sure what is going on, the PC works just fine but what's up with that double pump thingie? Also forgot to mention that the very first time it happened it gave me the message "overclock failed".

I've already tried unplugging everything, reseting bios settings and updating the bios, no changes.

PS: This guy has the same problem http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2174244/turning-shuts-back-thrice-starting.html apparently no answers were given

Thanks for the response, the thing is that my system has been running rock solid with the exact same settings for over a year, why did it happen now? I did not touch the memory modules nor did i touch the settings, that's so weird. I just plugged off my PC because there was a lightning storm and i was afraid it would damage my PC..

Let me try the memory settings though.

Ok how does the memory backup work? What would i have to do?

I just disabled "memory recheck" in bios, though i have no idea what was it for, lol but i thought it could be it. Also my modules are running at normal settings 8-8-8-24 so they are ok in that department.

ingtar33@ Any suggestions as to what would i have to do?

Could be it be cause my memories are running underclocked atm? But why would it be a problem since they've been running like that for a year now.. i dunno

What kind of battery would i have to buy and from where? A computer store?

Also, i read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_boot and it looks to me that my power supply may not be giving power to the motherboard at all times after it has been shut down, and that's why i might be having the double boot phenomenon.

I tried removing the battery and putting it back on after a minute. It reset bios but now im getting strange blue screen event 41, screen freezes and mouse/keyboard go off (no light), screen just shows whatever it was showing the time it happened. What is going on x,x could this be my PSU or HDD?

Sentinel shows no hdd problems

Ok so last week i removed the battery and reset it completely, put it back on and reloaded by OC settings and everything worked without double post. Right now (After a week) im facing the exact same problem, LOL! Double post is back. What is going on? I tried resitting rams, replugging connectors, even tried with a different GPU and it is still the same. Hm what the heck, any help?
