Ok i started having trouble with this suddenly and out of no where. I have a kingston ssd set up for my boot and the barracuda set up as storage for games movies and music. The problem is when i boot up both drives are visible i can somewhat use the HDD for a limited time then it will stop working disappear from device list. I have also noticed it making a skipping sound when its reading. I ran Seagates Seatools for windows and got this Log:
--------------- SeaTools for Windows v1.2.0.10 ---------------
6/28/2014 11:13:36 AM
Model: ST1000DM003-1CH162
Serial Number: S1DH7WEJ
Firmware Revision: CC49
Fix All Long - FAIL 6/28/2014 11:13:36 AM
SeaTools Test Code: DD96DBC7

It advised me to run Seatools for DOS with this notification:

Now is a good time to make sure you have a current backup of your important data.

Unfortunately, your Seagate product has failed an important diagnostic test, possibly caused by problem sectors which are difficult to read. Seagate recommends that you run SeaTools for DOS, which has the ability to repair most problem sectors. SeaTools for DOS may be able to save you from the inconvenience and down time of exchanging the drive. For more information on this subject see our online FAQ:

I have not run this yet, I wanted to see if anyone else on here had any advice or has run into such an issue.

Also to add the drive stays active until i go to actually use it heavily such as playing large games and if/when it fails if i restart from windows on reboot it fails to read either disk (ssd or hdd) and asks to insert boot disk, but if i manually power off/power on it boots up fine both disks active? Hope my rambling makes sense to someone lol.

My Specs-
Processor AMD FX 6300
Memory 8.00 GB Ram
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2G
Motherboard-Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
SSD Kingston HyperX 120 GB Model: SH103S3120G, Firmware: 521ABBF0
Seagate Barracuda 1TB Model: ST1000DM003-1CH162, Firmware: CC49

Thanks

So just an update...I ran DOS seatools and nothing would work i tried full erase....failed I even went to a complete wipe of everything to try a fresh start put a fresh install of O/S on my SSD and a complete format of my HDD still getting same problems. Could my hard drive just be shot, i would be pretty pissed if so because its only a few months old. Any ideas of ANYTHING that i might be able to try from here?
