As per the title of this thread my issue is my hdd powering up and down. this is a brand new hdd but the same problem has happened with my last 2 hard disks.
I find it happens most when i use a heavy application or game. I can hear the hdd winding down then spinning up again and it sounds as though its trying to catch up or something.
Sometimes it will cause a full pc freeze and other times i will be able to do some tasks but not others ie. i might be able to click things on the taskbar but not on the desktop.
Ive tried different things like changing power options,changing cables,resetting bios. Im really stuck on what to do next.
