I want to connect 3 additional monitors to my HP Laptop. This is for working from home and I will not be gaming at all. I just want more real estate to view different applications at the same time (Outlook, Excel, Word, Intranet Applications, etc.). I'm currently using two 27" monitors but had to disable my laptop screen because I could only display 2 at a time. I have one connection thru VGA and the other thru HDMI. I'd like to connect a third 27" monitor as well and I don't need the use of the laptop monitor but it would be nice.

I've read a lot about getting an external graphics card that will connect via an usb port. And also read about replacing my internal graphics card. What would you recommend is the best solution? I don't want to spend a huge amount of money (i.e. over $200).

My current setup:
Model: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC
Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz
BIOS Version: Hewlett-Packard F.32
Display: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3)
RAM: 4.0 GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System

Any education on the subject will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Kristin

EGpus are possible, but not on your machine. Your machine needs a thunderbolt port, as they are blazing fast. However, you can buy a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor for the extra real estate if your iGpu supports the resolution.

Well I purchased the SIIG USB 2.0 to VGA Pro online and it arrived today. I loaded the driver from the CD that came with the device, rebooted my computer and voila! My laptop immediately recognized it, automatically opened the display settings with the third monitor identified; I accepted the settings and now I have 3 external monitors connected to my HP laptop. It's awesome!!!! :)
