hi i just built a new computer and ive had it for about a week or two now. i really want to overclock it but i dont have too much knowledge with overclocking. i want to know if its a smart idea to overclock so early because ive heard it voids all warranties and shortens life of my components. so im scared of one of my parts randomly dying due to manufactures defect and being stuck with a dead part and no warranty.

i plan on overclocking with Ai suite which came with my asus z97-A motherboard

i would also like to know what would be a good temperature after i overclock (if i decide to do it)
my idle temps right now are around 34-36c

pc specs

intel i5 4670k
asus z97-A
g-skill sniper series 8gb (4x2) ram
evga gtx 760 superclocked
coolermaster haf 922
coolermaster hyper 212 plus
corsair cx 750w

Just do 44 for the mul and 1.22 on the vcore and you should be fine

Also if you stay below 72 while you stress test you are fine

thanks for the reply. i made my pc so it could handle overclocks if i were to ever do so in the future, but do you think its a good idea to overclock a brand new system that has all the warranties? should i wait? or go ahead and do it now.

Every computer that I own I overclocked it before even installing windows. If you want a decent overclock do 4.4 on the multiplier, and then do 1.22 on the vcore. If you stay below 72c while having all of the cores maxed out you should be fine

Sometimes you may need to add more voltages, If you stay below 1.25 normally you are good. like if you find it unstable do, 1.22 1.23,1.24 and then 1.25 Just don't go over 1.3
