I'm told that i have to update the bios to be able to use 4690.
My question is,how can i update it in this situation?

Hello,

Easiest solution: borrow an older SK1150 CPU, install OS, install ASUS Update Utility and make the BIOS update.

Another solution is to follow the ASUS BIOS Recovery Procedure as explained on ASUS Support CD, but the procedure is difficult and not straightforward.

Do what Cristi72 said and, if you have to, buy an H97 board.

Well, if the components are OK, you have a good PSU and you plugged all the cables in the proper places, the sole explanation why the board don't post is the lack of support for the newer processors, which it seems to be the case.

Used another 1150 cpu,and updated the bios but it didn't work! The solution was right but my Motherboard wasn't compatible with 4690!
So i returned the Motherboard and bought an h97 one,and now it's working!

Sorry to hear that; some may think that ASUS should have better knowledge about their own product... Anyway, it is good that you had the possibility to return the mobo and solved the problem. Have fun and enjoy your system!

Thanks!
Something important that i noticed is,ONLY by updating the BIOS through the software that is included in the driver disk,we'll be able to use CPUs that require BIOS update, otherwise we won't!(this is the way ASUS Motherboard BIOS update,I'm not sure about other Manufacturers!)
