I need to build a solid pc gaming computer for $250 bucks
i think to build on ASUS F2A55-M LK2 Motherboard with AMD Athlon II X4 760K 3.80GHz Cpu. and Amd radeon R7 250x also know as 7770
i have my old 450 W power supply, 500 gb hdd and 4 gb of Ram 1600 mhz
but i have a little problem my "seller" tells me not to build on FM2 socket because it's new and he say i dont give you guaranty. he recommended me to build on AM3 socker with dual core CPU.
Please help me, what you know from this, do i need to risk on FM2, do i need to change something. thanks

Hey,

Fm2 is a dead socket, but fm2+ is a new socket by amd. You can use fm2 CPUs on fm2+ boards but not the other way around.
Try to ask him why he won't give warranty on it. If he can't give an answer, I think he is trying to rip you off.

Well, at $250 you won't have many choices. As long as you don't need an operating system or any extras it's possible to have a good build.

Since you don't mention your PSU, I will assume it is a very bad one from a prebuilt. The 750ti can be used on such PSU because it doesn't use much power (75w at peak) and doesn't use any external power connectors. I believe it is the best one possible for you.

It could play BF4/Watchdogs at high setting at 40fps, the cpu may bottleneck, but you can't expect more from such a build when playing brand new games. You just need to lower the settings to medium if this occurred.

That's about all to be explained since I believe any other options wouldn't be as good as this one, at least compared to the GPU.

You do have the option to upgrade to a i5 later on if you want. I would not put any other card higher than a 7770/750ti on your PSU without knowing the model.

- In my country, Macedonia... yeah we have paypal since 2 weeks, but for buying from internet they can call me RETARD, they are all stupid ppl i have One site that i can buy: set.com.mk (you can use some translator for check), so if you think that i can make something from this parts that i mentored help me, if not i have no choice

hehe, glad it made your day ;)

Just make sure of 2 things:

- if you ever get a better graphics card, make sure to get a GOOD quality power supply like antec/seasonic/xfx. 450w minimum and 550w would be nice.

This shows how many watts they use when 100% stressed. Your CPU will use between 50w-100w and if you upgraded to an r9 270x is will use 142w at most. So 142w GPU+100w CPU + 100w for "safety" and you get 342w. >450w is better though since anything less than 400w is usually really bad or is overpriced.

-The other thing is that if you get another 4gb of ram later to have 8gb total, make sure it's the EXACT same model. If they aren't, they may work differently and this can cause problems for your system.
