The first sign of the problem is when the mouse starts making the disconnect sound and gets disconnected for a few seconds before being reconnected. The next sign is when the keyboard and mouse both fail at the same time. The keyboard lights are still on, but the Num Lock and all of that are dis-functional. The mouse light is on as well. The computer is not frozen.
I've already tried updating my BIOS, using a different keyboard and mouse, unplugging the mouse and keyboard and putting it into different slots. The only solution is to reboot the computer, and that solution is only temporary until a few hours later when it fails again.
