As the title says. what kind of hardware would I theoretically need to run games at 3840x2160 (4K) at 60fps? I am looking at building a pc for primarily gaming and rendering (with the latter at 2560x1440) and here is what I have put together:

    Mobo: Asus Z-97 Pro

    GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 780 6GB (SC w/ ACX)

    CPU: Intel i7 4790K

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB 1600MHz (4x8GB)

PSU: Corsair RM1000 (1000 Watt, Gold Efficiency, Fully Modular)

    Case: NZXT Phantom 630

Storage: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD & WD Black Series 2TB HDD

The reasoning behind the 780 6GB instead of the 780TI is that apparently the 3GB frame buffer is not enough for this resolution. Can these two cards handle it?

Either way a budget 4K monitor and an Asus ROG 2K monitor is about the same price, its just that I want a straight answer instead of every youtube video telling me to buy this rather than that and just beating-around-the-bush. :)

In short, yes, that setup should be able to handle 4k gaming without much issue. Just note that I've seen crossfire (or SLI) setups using some of the most powerful graphics cards available today struggle with 4k resolutions over 3 monitors. If you're only going to be using one, you should be just fine, but the hardware available today isn't future-proof as far as 4k gaming goes, I suspect we just aren't quite there yet as far as the retail market is concerned, most chips are still optimized for 1080p as that is what 90% of people are still running.
