So my friend wants to build a gaming PC with an Nvidia gpu and Intel processor. His budget is 900-1000$ to spend, no more no less. He already has a case picked out, I will put the link at the bottom. No ssd, or extra CPU cooler, we want all that money toward the best main components. He wants to be able to play most games on max settings. The processor should be an Intel i5 or something similar. No AMD components please.

Not sure why you wouldn't want AMD components. You could Crossfire 270x's and get above 780 Ti Performance. If you want to go that route, then here: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($139.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($74.70 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card (2-Way CrossFire) ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB TWIN FROZR Video Card (2-Way CrossFire) ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($85.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($16.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $932.60

Gets better than 780 Ti performance for half the price. I love this setup.

Thanks for both, I'm looking at them. Still taking suggestions if anyone else wants to.

Alright, just a preview of what you would get with the Crossfire 270x's:

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/8453865 (Physics score is low because of single channel RAM. Getting dual channel soon.)
With a 770:

With a 780 Ti:

Taking another look at this, does superclocked mean something like overclocked?

A second 290 will drop right in, without needing to upgrade the PSU, and the 4gb vram will get around the pesky settings in Watch Dogs and Wolfenstien that wont let you use ultra settings without at least 3gb [strike]4gb[/strike] vram. Although 2gb is usually enough for single monitor 1080p, my fear is that if two games are doing this now, we'll only see more in the future.

And yes superclocked is EVGA's overclocked. Most partner boards are overclocked, but as you can overclock it yourself anyway, it doesn't really matter.

It is EVGA's term. It helps mostly in marketing to make you think it is SUPER overclocked, when in reality, it is kind of average.
