So i recently got the old version of Xbox 360 from my cousin and i am trying to hook it up using HD/AV component wire. I am trying to run it on HDTV, my TV supports it. It is working fine on normal TV mode but when i switch it to HDTV and switch the Yellow wire with the Green one, the video won't show up. My tv says NO INPUT. I bought another component wire but still the same problem. I can hear the audio just fine but there is no Video signal. Help please.

Have you made sure that the cords are properly secured and the video input setting is set to the right plugin? Also, is the video going through an AV cable or a VGA one. (If you're unclear, this is is a VGA plugin http://i.imgur.com/eTdIAxv.jpg)

The hd cable you're speaking of is called a component cable. It has 5 connection. Red green and blue for video, then red and white for sound

I found out that there was nothing wrong with the cables. Apparently there is this heating issue with it and I can't play HD without getting it fixed first.

This.

You plug in the Red Blue and Green cables into the same colored ports on the TV. You can't plug any of them into the yellow port, that's for SD video only.
