I recently grabbed an ASUS VG24QE 144hz and now I have two monitors. My old LG, still going strong is my second monitor now hooked up via hdmi. Now, while I had this LG, long before I got my ASUS, it did flicker sometimes. Only in, usually, 2d flat colour environments (ie, camera panning to a blue sky in a movie, facing a colour uniform wall in a video game) would this flicker occur. Now that I have it set up as a second monitor, it flickers everytime something is on the screen of it. Now when I say flicker, I mean it turns off for 1 - 2 seconds then comes back on and does this constant until I move the browser window or whatever that is on the screen, once there is just the wallpaper, it stops flickering. I have tried a few fixes, one of them being disabling AMD overdrive, and that seemed to help but the flicker came back. To reiterate, it flickered before I bought the ASUS, but now it does it perhaps 80-90% of the time.

EDIT: the flickering actually only occurs on HDMI and not DVI. However, my 7950 only has a dual link DVI and HDMI for video output, so If i want two monitors I kind of need it on HDMI.

Ok so I'm pretty sure it's not the computers capability, what is your GPU though ? So it is only the second moniter flickering ? If so swap there places so the main moniter as the second moniter and viser versr, and see if it still is the same moniter flickering. Ok I just read your latest edit. So if it is just the HDMI port, you may have to purchase a Dvi dual adapter, and plug both though that, and then the problem will be solved if it is just the HDMI that is causing the issue.

We'll firstly Check if it is the monitor as you said it did it before, maybe it's the cord from the moniter is it firmly in ? and then next thing to do is to check if the pc your are running the screens on is capable of doing so.

Right so I did a double check of the chords a few minutes ago, everything is fine. The flicker only gets really bad on HDMI. My specs are: 4770K, 8gb RAM, 7950.
