Do you suggest Corsair 550W or Antec 550W PSU for better longevity?

Recently my PSU (Cooler Master 650 W) gave up after 3 years of use. I do not know why it had so little lifespan, when my computer requires 350 Watts at peak load of CPU and GPU. These PSUs do not come cheap, and it's hard to afford one every 3 years, when my PC is used for only a few hours a day.

I calculated the power requirement of my computer system with some online tools, and they recommend a 450 Watt PSU. I want to go for a new 550-Watt PSU so as to keep enough headroom if I decide to add another HDD or other peripherals in future.

I would go for that PSU, which, in your experience, has the greatest lifespan. I have two options in my budget - Corsair VS550 and Antec VP550.

Which one do you suggest for best longevity, as well as providing clean power to my PC components?

(PS: I do not overclock.)

Another question: The Antec VP550 claims it has two 12V rails of 30 Amps each. How can 720 Watts be possible for a 550 Watt PSU? Do the rails feed from the same transformer? If yes, then what is the use of two rails?

Thank you, everyone.

Thank you for your answers. :)

I'd really like to go for Seasonic, but crosses my budget by a large margin. And XFX PSUs aren't available in my area because of their poor service network in my state.
