Hello, everybody. I am fairly new to the PC tech world, and I am planning on doing my first build soon. I want to be able to play games on, preferably, at least, max settings with a smooth FPS. I am planning on using this EVGA GeForce GTX770 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CZIQXBA/ref=ox_sc_a...) and this Intel i5-4670K CPU (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CO8TBOW/ref=ox_sc_a...). I want to be sure that this motherboard (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D12OAVE/ref=ox_sc_a...) will be any sort of bottleneck to these components. Keep in mind that I am trying to budget as much as possible so I would like to refrain from using a very expensive motherboard. Also, if you have any recommendations, they would be very welcome.

Basically, all I am asking is, would that motherboard be a bottleneck? Thank you!

Try putting this build here www.pcpartpicker.com it's how we can figure out what you like and how much you think you want to spend in it. We can take it apart from there on (and give you some awesome suggestions according to the use you will give it)

Best Luck

Here, sorry about that ;) :

Also keep in mind my chassis is under the "Custom" category at the bottom.

Would your Motherboard Bottleneck your CPU/GPU? Yes. Why? Because i5-4670K cannot reach its true strength with a b85 motherboard.

You should try something like that:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Kingston Fury Red Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($72.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.91 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card ($249.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: XFX 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ NCIX US)
Other: Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case CC-9011050-WW ($44.99)
Total: $900.82
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Now you could oc this i5-4670K for at least 20% gain.

Your build is looking like $1,100 (with tax and all) Don't forget you will need a O/S Win 8.1 64bit to get you going. You would save some more cash it you picks these up from a local microcenter
