If you install an os on your desktop, it's going to load all the drivers for your desktop & almost certainly will not even boot on your laptop.
It's next to, if not impossible to force drivers on to a HD that is in a computer w/ different hardware.

microsoft told me that it was possible but wouldnt tell me how to do it.. the other issue is the laptop doesent have a dvd player and i only have 1gb usb flashdrivers so the only option would be soemhow install it off of a sd card if thats even possible

[strike]by messed up do you mean that windows install is failing?

if so, you should be able to boot from the win7 disk and format your hard drive on the laptop and then proceed with a full reinstall.

if you are not able to do this or if it has another type of failure then you need to be more specific.[/strike]

edit: saw your new post about this.

generally it is not a good idea to try to install the os using a different system.

drives not failing its just wont boot cuz i deleted an important widnows fiile.. only way i can install it now is eitehr computer or sd card

knowing the situation better...

it sounds as if the first thing to try would be windows install via flash drive. you may need to buy a bigger drive though however this should not cost much at all.

you may even just be able to do a windows repair instead.

what file? did you try replacing it?

A windows repair should fix most boot errors.

About getting the ISO to the SD card your gonna need either a: SD to USB adapter or one of those SD bays, I forget what they are called.

Also microsoft has pretty helpful articles about doing a USB windows install. (installing windows FROM a USB not to a USB.)
