Hello there, recently i tried switching my computer from a wireless connection to a more stable wired one. But when i disconnected wireless, it could not find a wired connection. I checked my drivers and it said the Ethernet connection driver was bad. I uninstalled the driver, and reinstalled it from Asus's website. But it still cant find a wired network. whats my next step?

Motherboard: M5A97 LE R2.0

Driver website:

Hi

things to check before buying a new PCI or PCI-e card
(check which free slots you have as some new motherboards do not have PCI slots)

is ethernet cable known good ?
(working with other PC's & switches etc)

cross over cable ment for PC to PC may not work if going to router or switch

Is link light next to RJ45 network port at router and PC lit and correct color ?
Is network chip disabled in BIOS ?

regards
Mike Barnes

Ive tried the cable on my laptop and it works fine. On my laptop in the network and sharing center, It shows my wireless and wired connection and lets me disable one or the other. my desktop doesn't see a wired connection. Its lit up in the back orange. I'm not sure if that's the correct color or not.
