I am creating a PC that I want to perform well in gaming, and here is my list of parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/SplashHero/saved/qVtQzy

Also I'll be using Linux as my operating system and do you think I should get an aftermarket CPU cooler? I'm not planning on overclocking so I don't think I need to get one right away.

It might not be the best build, but what do you think? Suggestions are welcome! Thanks! :)

You have a non overclocking cpu with an overclocking motherboard.

If you want to overclock then get an overclocking cpu (eg i5 3570k) and a good cpu cooler eg coolermaster hyper 212 evo.

For even cheaper you should be able to get 1.5v cl9 1866 ram

Consider a Gigabyte gtx 770 instead

Nice power supply.

The other peripherals should be your choice, but personally, I don't feel that Mechanical Keyboards are worth their high price. Same goes to laser mice. But don't skimp on good audio. I have the Asus Xonar DG soundcard with the AE ego-M. Fantastic sound with digital surround
