Hi,

From that title you will have no idea what im talking about, however in the settings (Catalyst centre) i turned up the minumum MHz the CPU can run at to 3.5GHz (It was idling occasionally for no reason in games and causing lag spikes, especially in saints row 4), however now i have locked the frequency at 3.5, my actual frequency (According to CPU-Z) is 3.8GHz, im not sure if thats right or wrong but i really dont want to be overclocking as i am on the stock cooler.

As you can see above i locked the freq to 3.5 GHz

However CPU-Z says its running at 3.8....

the fx 6300 has a turbo to 4.1ghz on 1 core when it needs it.
when all cores work it will show 3.8ghz and that's what you see in cpu-z.
so you are not overclocking and even at 4.1 you would be safe with the stock cooler, because if you set the voltage manual you be able to go lower then what it is on auto.
