So, October last year built a Budget Gaming PC with the AMD A8-5600K, MSI A55M-E33 and 2x4Gb of 1600Mhz RAM, and now I want to upgrade it.

I want to buy a AMD R9 270 but I think it will bottle neck with my CPU. So I want to overclock it.

My question is, will I be able to overclock my A8-5600K to 4Ghz+ with a Raijintek Aidos Heatink and my current motherboard or is the VRM not good enough?

If it is then will the GA-F2A88XM-DS2 be a good upgrade option?

Here's a link to my other thread asking about the upgrade http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2178424/good-upgrade-gaming.html?xtor=EPR-8809#13601883

Your MB is not good enough, because it has low VRM and does not has heatsink on the MOSFET section. In the picture, the MB has more VRM but does not has the heatsink. http://cdn.overclock.net/0/0f/600x584px-LL-0fab9f91_600x616px-LL-0c343af0_3581_880GM-USB3_no_IDE.jpeg As I know if you need oc the cpu, you need the MB has more VRM or the heatsink.

The GA-F2A88XM-DS2 is not good either. http://img.fcenter.ru/goodsimages/119000/119500/119599/370256_L.jpg

You need buy this one at least Asus A85XM-A http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00ECDC5L8/?tag=pcp0f-21 or Gigabyte
GA-F2A88X-D3H http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaf2a88xd3h

Here is the reviews, they use either GA-F2A85X-UP4 or MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 for ocing the A8-5600K.

I can't get the A85XM any more! Woud the A88XM do the same job? LINK!

Also I have a OEM copy of windows 7 HE, will I need to rebuy it?

If so could I keep the data on my HDD but reinstall windows? Or remove windows altogether and use it as a secondary drive with the data still on?

Could this be done without having to backup onto a separate Drive? Also I dual boot with Ubuntu (I don't know why, I just get a immense feeling of joy and pleasure whenever I boot a linux distro) would that affect anything?

And how would I go about removing windows 7 without losing the data, surely i'd have to reformat the drive from NTSC to use it as a storage device like a external HDD?
