Hey
So I have a compaq mini cq10, windows 7 professional
And it will not connect to my netgear
It shows a red cross on the mini icon and when I troubleshoot it says "unexpected error has occurred. the troubleshooting wizard can't continue"
So I clicked on the network map in 'network and sharing centre' it says that "the adapter is not connected"
The long story?
I shut down my laptop one night and went to sleep, I woke up the next morning and turned on the laptop it showed a massage saying "the computer can't start" so I waited half an hour then I got bored so I forced shut down it and re-turn it on. I t operated normaly. The wifi icon kept seaeching at first then it showed the red cross.
HELP ME PLEASE
I've viewed different articles but none was the same as mine.
Is it the motherboard? The adapter broken or fried?
I really need the internet xox

Solution
1.go to device manager and look for the wifi adapter/wlan and disable it for few seconds then enable.
2.scan for viruses
3.make sure to disable any startup programs with msconfig that arent needed.
4.adjust power settings and go to advanced-adjust need be-for example, usb selective settings should be disabled.
5.reinstall mobo driver and wifi adapter etc...
6.make sure bios is updated.
7.if using usb adapter plug in differnt port, get differnt usb cord.
8.windows update
thats top of my head solutions
