Hello, I'm new to Tom's Hardware and would like to see if anyone can help me with this issue. So what happened was, I formatted my hard drive and installed Windows 7 64 bit (previously had 32 bit win7) and I began to notice my pc ran slower while gaming. So I opened up dxdiag and sure enough my graphics card memory is now 720mbs when it use to be like 1024. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 4850HD edition. Anyone know whats up?

It doesn't mean anything. Some systems show higher than normal, some lower than normal depending on shared resources one way or another and reporting errors(mine shows 4GB on a 2GB card). Use a program like MSI Afterburner and you can actually see the amount of vram that is actually being used.

Thnx for quick response! That's good to hear, It just concerned me that win7 32 bit new how much memory it had exactly and 64 bit doesn't...Idk hopefully switching to 64 bit was a good idea because I'm running into a lot of issues unforunetly
