No DVI Signal but can get VGA signal

Suddenly I had no DVI signal when I had been using it the night before. I may have left the computer on overnight. Tried substituting dvi cables but no results. VGA works fine. I have an HDMI port on the monitor but not on the computer.

check for corrupt files (sfc /scannow)? maybe the driver needs to be re installed. check for virus/malware and clean your registry. also if none of that works look into system restore. if none of that helps the hardware might be going somewhere down the road (the motherboard pci slot, the GPU itself, or maybe the cable went bad).
