My master HDD with Windows on it just died, and I didn't create a backup. I have another slave HDD in my computer I use just for storage, but now it seems like I'll be using it as my master. I need help installing Windows 7 onto it! I'm not using a CD because I lost the installation disk, so I just mounted an .iso onto an external hard drive. I'm still getting the "Reboot and Select proper Boot device" message. Really need help.

thanks in advance, jason.

You need to write the ISO to the drive using something like THIS. I don't know if it works with external HDD but I imagine it would. It will erase everything on the drive though.

thanks a ton! I guess I didn't properly mount the .iso onto my USB, but the program you linked helped me. Once in the BIOS I just pressed F8 to pull up boot options then booted the USB, and everything was solid from there.

Awesome. Glad that worked for you.
