I'm trying to buy ram for my older PC with an intel core 2 quad q6600, and an Asrock LGA 775 motherboard (which supports DDR2). On the ram page it states 2GB DDR2 for AMD cpu and motherboard. As far as I knew ram was universal between Intel and AMD. So if I buy this ram will it work with my intel machine?

My motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/g31m-gs/

Ram link:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2GB-PC6400-DDR2-800MHz-PC2-6400-240PIN-DIMM-AMD-Motherboard-Desktop-memory-A-/281346764981?pt=US_Memory_RAM_&hash=item418192f0b5&_uhb=1

Thanks for any help.

Not exactly. If you are adding memory you need to be sure both modules have the same voltage requirements and that that voltage is compatible with your MB (1.8v is what the item description has). Also when adding it is not advise to mix brands and models. RAM has 4 Primary specs. and about 6 secondary ones. If the two modules are different conflicts often occur. There is a label on your RAM that has brand, model and specs. If you can post this info. we may be able to better recommend what to do.

I have no ram in the PC at the moment, My plan is to buy 2 of those 2gb sticks. Will they work in my asrock motherboard with my intel CPU?

No telling the seller does not give a model number so you can not go to the Kingston page to check and there are no timing specs. shown so you have no idea what you are buying. Do you have to buy ebay or can you use a retailer like Newegg?

I live in Vancouver Canada, as long as I can get 4GB DDR2 in 2 sticks I can get it any where. Not willing to pay more than ~$25 though.
