Hi everyone.

Basically my computer just constantly reboots over and over and over again. These are new parts which I have installed which are the p8z68v-lx and an i5 2500k and I'm yet to get it to work.

The parts are second hand because I was on a right budget and couldn't get them parts new anymore.

These are the full specs of the computer.

Xfx gtx 295
Intel i5 2500k
Asus p8z68 v-lx
Corsair vengeance 2x4gb 1600mhz
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
Antec 900 case
OCZ gameXstream 850w psu

So here I start. Basically it turns on the dram light and cpu light turns on once and then turns off when the computer turns of. I read that they turn on when they are working correctly and then turn back of, and they flash when there is an issue, so my guess is it isn't that. Anyway then it turns off and turns back on and does this continuously.

I have tried resetting the CMOS also no change, tried different configuration of the TPU An EPU switches tried reconnecting every cable multiple times. Tried to place the gpu in a different slot and also tried it without a gpu.

Tried placing 1 ram stick in each slot an then trying to reboot also no luck.

I have tried to reposition the cpu by taking it all apart and replacing it. I looked to see if there is any bent pins which I cannot see even with a magnifying glass.

I'm not connecting my monitor etc etc although I don't think that will make the computer boot?

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for spelling and grammer mistakes as I'm writing this on my phone.

Thanks
Paul

make sure the motherboard not grounding out to the case and the 8 pin cpu power plug on the edge of the mb is plugged in and all the power plugs on the gpu are connected. pull the gpu and see if the mb will boot with onboard video. the mb should post per asus stock 0401 bios should post with that cpu (the last 4 numbers of the mb is the bios rev on asus).

the last 4 numbers I see is 0501 on the sticker ontop of the mobo.

The mobo is seated on the golden things so it is not touching the case at all and the 2x4 plugs are correctly in.

I'm seriously lost for ideas.

with used parts...start with pulling the mb try posting with one dimm and no video card. try another power supply if you have one or ask a friend. make sure the cpu is the 2500k and there no bent pins under the cpu. if yu have a local shop that can help...see if they have a test cpu that can drop in see if the mb post. there no real way for a home user to know if a cpu is bad unless they send it back.

Here is a video of it, I've actually double posted this by accident so quite annoying.

I will try pull out the gfx card and then 1 dram slot etc thing. I cannot try a new psu as i don't have one and neither do my friends.

I took a photo of the pins when I pulled it out and replaced I just can't seem to upload it as I'm on my phone. They didn't look bent as far as I could tell but I'm not too sure.

When pulling the lever back down when placing the cpu should it be relatively stiff or easy?

Edit. This should be the photo, I don't think they look bent?
