So i purchased 2 of these kits of ram http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Z1CVHW/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

popped them in, everything boot right, sounds good?

well i noticed a few days after that my memory was only on 1333mhz

so i swapped it to use the XMP profile 1 (which is the only one)

well now my system wont boot passed the bios, i keep getting an error that basically says the config might not be compatible

the system will boot perfect on 1333mhz, and to get it to boot on 1600mhz i have to change the timing to 10-9-10-9-26 and set the ram voltage to 1.55v

can anyone explain how to get it to 1866mhz

nothing is overclocked in my system by the way

Motherboard im using is Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev 4

CPU im using is AMD FX-8350 (Stock Clocks)

someone please help :(

Solution
If you want 16GB, you need to buy either:

One set of 4 x 4GB
One set of 2 x 8GB

Two sets of 2 x 4GB are not guaranteed to work together

To get this to work, various options you might try...

Raise DRAM voltage
Loosen RAM timings
Downclock CPU

so i think i figured out the problem, one set is Rev 4.13 and the other is Rev 8,22

damn!

the rev 8.22 has a tRC of 36 and the 4.13 has a tRC of 48

guess ill be sending one set back :(

Amazon might do something, though the manufacturers generally guarantee by the packaged sets as they can be constantly changing individual models as to the components used, they generally guarantee by the individual set, which is why they offer such a variety of sets
