CPU for approximately $200

Any suggestions? I'm currently running a AMD FX-4100 and I think it's bottlenecking my GTX 670. Thanks!

AMD fx 6300 for about 100-130dolars should be fine and not bottleneck or if you want get the fx 8350 for 170$ if you dont mind spneding extra 40-70$

I would go for a FX8320, only about $10-20 more than the FX6300, turbos about the same but you get 2 more "cores"

I was thinking about an FX-8320/8350, but I think I might prefer an Intel since not many games utilize all the cores those processors use. Can you suggest any Intel around $200?

For about $190 you can get a nice locked i5 4460. Pay a bit more, $230ish and you can get a i5 4690K or Xeon E3 v3

You would have to reinstall everything and buy a new motherboard on top of that as well though

Btw an intel processor wont work on a motherboard designed for an AMD processor so you would have to change the mobo which could cost more

One last question, actually: is the AMD FX-8350 upgrade actually WORTH the $160? (newegg has it for the price on eBay) Around how much additional FPS can I expect?

it'll be faster by quite a bit since piledriver > bullzoer by about 15% clock for clock but you also get higher clocks and more cores
