Can I leave a sysfan header on my motherboard not connected into anything

Basically what the title says. I'm planning on using a fan controller, so I wont make use of my sysfan headers on my motherboard.

you can turn off monitoring to most motherboards fans. and many motherboards will only warn you seriously if the cpu fan is returning nothing (unless you're doing something exotic with your cpu fan, please leave that one plugged into your motherboard. the day your cpu fan dies, you'll be glad you did)
