Put together a new build this weekend:
i3-4150
MSI H81M-E35
Windows 7 SP1
Network adapter: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Booted Windows 7 from USB
Installed all Drivers and Utilities from MSI website
http://us.msi.com/product/mb/H81ME35.html
All the other drivers are working fine - Audio, Graphics, etc.

Problem is - can't connect to internet
Network reads: Not Connected - No Connections Available
Network Diagnostics suggests to Plug and Ethernet Cable into this computer
I installed the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller driver from the MSI website, and have tried Realtek's own website driver, but nothing has changed.

I'd like to connect this PC through the same wireless network which I can connect through on a laptop and phone.

This is my second build, but first time booting Windows with a USB and installing the drivers from the website over a USB.
Would reinstalling Windows and the drivers over an optical disk solve the issue?
Would purchasing an Ethernet Cable solve the connection problem?

Thank You! Everything went smoothly until this bump.

No, reinstalling over the optical disk won't change anything.

I suggest trying a Ethernet connection, if the WIFI doesn't work.

Glanced at the MB at MSI and did not see any wifi integrated with the MB. Do you have a wifi adapter? A usb wifi adapter will work great.

An ethernet cable will work if plugged into a router or modem.

Are you using a wifi adapter? Because that mobo doesn't have onboard wifi. Plug it in or buy a wifi adapter.

Total noob mistake! My previous build back home was hooked into the cable modem and router, and having forgotten that, I assumed all motherboards had wireless connectivity. I'm putting together a budget gaming PC at school now so will have to use the university's ethernet or a wifi adapter. School really tries to tack on as much costs as possible.

Thanks for all the replies; all were the correct solutions. But Barney wins it. He's a degenerate drunk.
