I'm building a new gaming pc for my wife's bday and I'm considering changing my original case plan of the rosewill challenger. I've heard it's one of the best budget mid tower cases but I'm abandoning my budget on this build and I'm looking for something with great performance and something that has the looks to match. This is my build as of now:

I guess I'm just beating this horse to death. My pc related google searches are just a sea of purple. I don't want to sacrifice performance for looks, but my wife is a girl after all. This would be so much easier if there was a rosewill challenger jack white series. Haha

There's a lot of cases out there. Mostly it all comes down to personal taste. I have a Corsair 550d. It looks clean, sharp and is quiet, but it's also nearly a full tower and weighs a ton. It has filters on all the fans, acoustic foam, room for 10 or 11 (mix of 120, 140mm) fans, 6 hdds or ssds. Aluminum door on the front and toolless everything including side panels.

Yea my budget isn't really an issue. I've been pushing my budget up farther and farther since I started. I knew nothing when I started so I just made an arbitrary number as my budget because I was ignorant and I didn't understand just how much is involved in building a pc. I just didnt want to spend 3000 because it's my first build and I wanted to test the waters.

While yes, you can build good cheap pc's, I think it's still important to find something that suits you even if you have to spend a little extra. There's always something in all my builds that I wish I could have done differently. Some of it just takes experience to figure it out. My advice is to take your time and research thoroughly.

I really wish I could spend more time researching, but wife's bday is July 2nd so I would at least like to have ordered the parts by then. The trouble with researching is knowing the right questions to ask. Without any real hands on experience it's all too abstract. I think I just need to get my feet wet on this build and I'll have much more confidence on my next. I'll still be needing all the help of all you guys on tom's hardware though. I lack imagination and bouncing ideas off all you guys is a great help.
