I have a laptop that was given to my friend who works for a towing/impound yard. After vehicles are impounded for 30 days, the owners are given the opportunity to collect all of their belongings from the vehicle. In this case, the owner of the vehicle never claimed the laptop. After a certain amount of time, the vehicle is auctioned off and the contents are given to the tow company. My friend's boss gave him the laptop but it is locked with a BIOS password.
The laptop I have here is an Asus X44H. I already pulled the CMOS battery from the motherboard and reinstalled it. It didn't erase the password.
does anyone know the master password for this model laptop? the bios is by AMI (American Megatrends)
any help would be appreciated.
