Hi, im new here, looking for some advice.

My htpc is not booting up, it was fine yesterday morning, i streamed a film in the morning. Switched it back on later, and all i get on my tv is no signal.
i have tested cable with xbox, so i know its not that.
all fans inside are spinning, blue led power light is flickering etc, and no beeps or anything when i turn it on.
cd drive also opens and closes.
i cannot access the computer over network sharing. So im guessing its not booting properly.

it has a gigabyte f2a88xm-d3h mobo
and and a10 6700 cpu with built in graphics.
i have 1 4gb stick of g skill 1600mhz ram
Samsung evo 240gb ssd drive.

im at work and using phone atm, but i will try provide any more info if possible

What have you tried so far? Have you tried a system repair with a restore disk?

Do you have another monitor you can try it with?

Going to try one later after work, but i cant access shared drive from my other computer, which makes me think its not booting up.
I've also plugged xbox into hdmi cable, and im getting a picture straight away, so i know cable and tv is fine

Try breadboarding the computer, see if you can get any POST beeps to go off. Start with just CPU and cooler and add components from there.

Taking out all the parts except for the CPU and cooler and trying different parts to see if you get any POST beeps.

Got it working for now, i connected it to pc monitor using dvi cable, it came up with a blue screen saying something about an error, it then asked me to system restore, which didn't work.
i then had option to boot windows anyway, and it appears to be working now.

all set back up in living room on tv.
i don't know what initial problem(s) were, is there any checks or anything you might recommend?

You switched a cable out? The cable may have been the issue, but you might just want to run a couple tests like CHKDSK and Windows Memory Diagnostics

I swapped the cable and monitor, and I got a picture of a blue error screen, which is probably why it wasn't booting properly, not sure hdmi wouldn't show signal. But once I managed to get it to boot back into windows/xbmc, it is now working on my existing hdmi that I was using before.

I done a chkdsk, and it came back with no errors, I will look into WMD.

still not sure what caused problem initially, or how I fixed it, but it is working anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to offer your help frisbee
