Hello people I'm new to the forums, I recently got given a new Graphics card the Radeon HD 7770 2gb edition, but when it's in my computer I get a blue screen of death and a graphics driver error, that completely locks up my whole system. any help please it's too late to return it and if possible is there anyway to fix it?

here are my Computer Specs

Operating system: Windows 7 x64 bit
Processor: AMD FX 6-Core Black Edition FX-6300
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M LX3 Socket AM3+ VGA 8 Channel Audio mATX
RAM: G.Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866MHz Ripjaws-X Memory Kit
Graphics card Current: Nvidia 630 gt 1gb ddr3
Power supply: CiT 750w duel 12v rails

The graphics card Im upgrading to: Asus HD 7770 2GB GDDR5

I have my suspicions of it being my Power supply, Since it was cheap and seems generic only £33 for a 750w is really low in price, So I might upgrade to a corsair 500w since it's in my budget and is a known company for reliable and powerful power supplies.

help and recommendations will be very helpful right now.

Many Thanks Jason

@LucoTF-- Nice profile picture, How did you make it?

@Howittz-- If the latest driver from AMD web don't work try the one that comes with your card, and if you have Nvidia card previously, make sure the Nvidia drivers are gone

I have tried all of these, this includes a fresh install of windows and install the drivers off the disk without being connected to the internet, I also did try to uninstall the drivers and re-install them.

Though is CiT really this bad, I know its a generic-ish brand but I thought it would be able to handle my 7770?

I should also point out that my computer locked up when I play games my screen goes gray with pixels all over, most of the time it turns into a bsod and instant restarts my computer but a couple of times it has said graphics driver has crashed

I don't think I tested the graphics card without drivers properly because the games I play said bad video card drivers. although it did crash once while watching youtube, that's when my processor was at 85 on idle (heatsink problem I fixed that) so I can't be sure, although when I had it in it never crashed when I was just browsing the web/watching videos it was always when playing games so taking strain

I hope it's not a hardware issue, but talk of 'pixels all over' doesn't sound good

I'll try this, I ordered myself 500w corsair Power supply as well hoping it was CiT just being useless should get it by tomorrow.

If anything I hope it's just the CiT power supply since I ordered a new one otherwise I just wasted around £52

It is a driver problem. I had this once.
My story:
I upgraded my driver and then it restarts my PC. But when the PC turns back on, after the starting windows screen, i'm getting static (like in a tv), i tried going to safe mode, i can use safe mode without problems. I uninstalled the driver and used the old driver and it works.
2 months later, the card died.
It was a Gigabyte HD7750 OC 2GB edition

Great.. if you said nvidia I wouldn't worry as much but of course it has to be an AMD card, anyway I'll try it tomorrow while I'm swapping PSU's over I'll also put the card in, would you recommend that I install the driver from the disk only or a newer version
