sorry guys im new here!

did RMA twice recently on Sapphire r9 280x vapor-x. then changed to Asus r9 280x, but was little big couldnt fit in. now im trying to change from r9 280x to gtx770 but the problem is my pc is kinda small. NZXT Apollo. so i asked the shop through email and they replied:

"Hi

Thanks for the email. we’ve already opened had a look on 770, it’s same length as the previous asus one. As the vapor also upgraded its fan and making it longer, we have to get the oldest version from supplier, if it’s still available."

basically im comparing the length between Asus r9 280x dcii top with asus gtx 770. according to asus's website, these 2 cards have different length, but the staff is telling me that they have the same length. PLUS, if im not mistaken, the gtx770 is shorter than the r9 280x vapor-x, but the staff insisted that the gtx770 wouldnt fit in.

as for the vapor mentioned above, its the Sapphire r9 280x vapor-x. this staff is telling me that the vapor-x i bought was the "old" version of vapor-x. the "new" vapor-x couldnt fit into my pc because Sapphire upgraded the fan thus it got longer, ultimately couldnt fit into my system. but funny thing is, i went to Sapphire's website and the dimension of this card is still the same and nothing have changed.

so am i getting conned?

Simply state, the dimensions of your case to them if you can contact them via phone or email.
That should clear things up.
I know the actual heat sink and fans vary in size. for example you can have a dual fan card with slightly larger diameter fans.
and also the heat sink is slightly extended to provide a bit more heat dissipation on two fan based cards.

Of course a tri based one is obviously going to be too big as the heat sink unit is often longer than the physical graphics card circuit board.

They do change.
