I have an ASUS X54H (Radeon HD 7470 1GB, 4GB of RAM, Intel i3, Widows 7 SP1).
Yesterday I uninstalled the AMD Catalyst Install Manager and updated the AMD Catalyst Driver to 14.4, but at some point the screen went black, the display does work, but the backlight is not on.
Using an external VGA display works, and if i press fn+f7, it shows "LCD ON/OFF" but it doesn't actually work.

So today I saw on the raptr app that there were beta drivers available, so I tried to install those; after the install I shutdown the pc and booted it. The built-in display works fine, until windows opens, then the backlight goes off again.

During the installation I read that it installed the display drivers, but could it be that they weren't installed correctly because I didn't delete the previous drivers before installing 14.6?
Or notebooks just can't have driver updates? Because on the ASUS website the latest driver available is from 2011.

BUMP

I uninstalled the 14.6 drivers and reinstalled the 14.4 ones, nothing happened. Is there possibly an older version that could work?
If there isn't then I'll have to revert to the factory version. Where can I find old versions, on the AMD website I can only find the latest one.

EDIT: I found the factory drivers on the ASUS website, but i'd still like to have drivers more up to date.
Could it work if I installed an older version of the display drivers along with 14.4, or would that damage the GPU?

EDIT2: I uninstalled 14.4 again and installed the drivers I found on the ASUS website, which should be the ones that came with my computer, but it didn't work, the backlight works, but the screen remained green/black with a very high contrast, a lot of stuff is not readable.
I reinstalled 14.4 and it's just like before, no backlight.
