Is Full Tower Worth it without the Need for it?

I plan on buying the Arc Midi R2 and overclock with the Noctua NH-D14 cooler. Somebody offered me the Arc XL which he barely used for couple of months for the same price.
Now I don't have a special need for the Full Tower case but maybe there is still a point in getting it?

Hi ImperialJoe
Your Arc Midi R2 will suport coolers up to 180mm tall , so will take the nhd14 at 160mm tall
It takes cards up to 430mm long with the top cage removed
It has ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX motherboard compatibility
a lot of full tower cases do not even do this ,
The Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 is a good choice for a midtower and has huge potential for later upgrades
Stick with that case , you will be fine

One of my friends INSISTED on having a full tower, and after I finished the build there was SO much wasted room in there it wasn't even funny. This was a no overclocking, single video card kind of guy with nothing fancy at all. If anything, I think it hinders airflow to have that much extra space in there.
