so i had 2 sticks of 2gb already in my computer which are geil 2gb pc3-12800. and after i got some new ram https://www.ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?InventoryItemID=609120&CategoryID=491
. it wont boot up, i dont understand the ones i bought run exactly the same, i messed around with the bios and did some changes but nothing. they both run at the same speed 1333mhz. i have had a check also with my motherboard and it does support 8bg of ram. and before you ask i have tried different ram and it does the same thing.

one last thing my old one runs on 1.6v and the new one runs on 1.5v, and yes i have changed the voltage in bios

Solution
You'll have trouble finding a replacement motherboard.

If it was working with the old ram, then just put it back that way again. If it still works then it's not a motherboard problem. It's the ram.

Then swap the Geil ram for one of the rams on the Memory Support List

i have put it in just before both of the sticks they came in 1 kit and all it does is go to windows logo and crashes and restarts. it did it again with only 1 stick and it does the same thing

The motherboard also provide a list of ram they know works - http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3310# - Memory Support List.

Maybe see if you can swap the Geil for one of these that are known to work OK. I still think the Geil should work. But I can't see everything there is in bios that needs setting. There must be something for Memory.

well it looks like it doesnt work ii might just have to upgrade to a new montherboard any tips on what i should get

one last question could it be because of windows 8, cause the motherboard says it doesn't support it?
