3570k requires 1.3v for stability at 4.3 :/

Hi all,

I noticed yesterday that my chip was getting extremely hot and ive had to downclock it, basically if i put it below 1.3v it will crash, the llc is set to extreme aswell, what would be a good way to find a sutable and stable OC? i have a masimus v gene

The Ivy bridge is a hot CPU overclocked, you can do a lot with it if you can keep it cool enough!

There are factors that affect overall load temperature CPU heat beside the applied CPU voltage, some are luckier than others when it comes to an Ivy Bridge CPU, that is going to be ambient air cooled, and it is ambient air cooled whether you are running an air cooler or a water cooler, each is ambient dependent.

Sometimes heat is affected by the system memory controller being overclocked adding to the CPUs heat load.

Sometimes your CPU cooling just is not adequate for the clocks you'd like to run.

Sometimes the BIOS settings you're running are adding heat load as well.
