if you cannot afford the 780ti than the 290x will be great as well.

as you see both are close in performance. so either one you get will get u great performance obviously for your buck the 290x seems like a better deal i must agree

Crossfired 290x's will be a great deal more powerful than a single 780 Ti but will that PSU isnt built to handle them

290x's recommend a 700watt PSU with 42Amps on the 12volt rail supplied by 8+6pin cables. While the Antec supplies 48amps over a 12v rail through 2x6+2 pin cables.

The GTX 780 Ti is probably going to be better in most games, but it is $200 more. I would say it is up to you and what you can fit into your budget. If you have the money, I would say a 780 Ti is good considering all of the nVidia optimized games. A 290x won't disappoint, either.
