could this be a PSU failure ?

Hey,

I was playing TF2 5mins ago, disconnected from a server, and after a while, my house lights tripped. Could this be because if my PSU ? I thought my Seasonic S12ii 520w would never fail me. Could it be my old monitor's PSU ?

I'm at home in the dark. So yeah, a blackout only at my place, neighbours seem fine.

You must be wondering why I would go to Toms hardware for such a problem XD

The details you provided are not exactly clear however we can try and trouble shoot. Your PSU has max (safe limit) of 520W and goes on 12V. This means the most it would possible draw (assuming you are going into the red zone) is around 40Amps. A normal house in Canada uses mostly 10 or 20amp breakers. 40Amp breakers are usually reserved for things like stoves or fridges. If your PSU spiked and drew enough power, it could have popped a breaker or blown a fuse.

1. Go to your fuse box

2. See those little switches? lightly wiggle them one by one and look for any give.
3. If you find one that is kinda loose, Flip the switch off then back on. that should solve your problem.

If you blew a fuse in some way, you need to go replace it. Ask someone with that knowledge to do it as its slightly dangerous.
