Hey, I'm building a gaming PC and have figured out most of the parts i want to use sort of like a draft, I have little experience so I was wondering if i bought these specs if i would have everything needed and if it would work..also if you see anything which could be improved whilst keeping the price the same or lower it would be massively appreciated. :)

CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX (104.20 @ Scan.com)

Motherboard: ASRock H87 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£57.23 @ Amazon UK)

Memory: Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£54.69 @ Amazon UK)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£38.70 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card (£201.00 @ Amazon UK)  can be as cheap as 150 second hand.

You can get an Asus M5a97 R2.0 motherboard for about £65.

I suggest you use pc part picker when selecting your components. It'll compare prices of different retailers for you and notify you of any compatibility issues.

That motherboard is not compatible with that CPU.
I'd recommend you switch the CPU to an i5-4460 or i5-4590, as those will perform better in games, and will work with the motherboard you've chosen.

The rest of it looks good.

If you wanted, you could save money just getting an R9 280 and overclocking it. The "X" on the end just means it's been overclocked from the factory.

The X on the end doesn't mean it's been overclocked from the factory... The R9 280X has more stream processors than the R9 280, don't know the exact values, but it's something around 2000 vs 1800

Indeed, in every GPU release there is the "full" version, and one that didn't quite pass all the tests, usually just an SMX processor or in the lower-end budget cards a memory channel that failed, so they disable it and release it as the next model down.

Same holds for Nvidia GTX770/GTX680 is the top in it's generation, GTX780, 780Ti, Titan, Titan Black, and Titan Z are all the same GPU, just different numbers of SMX units. (Titan Z is dual GPU)

295x, 290x, and 290 are all the same GPU chip (295x is dual GPU)
280x and 280 (7990, 7970 and 7950) (7990 is dual GPU)

Minor revisions and rebranding is the name of the game these days.

I didnt check the stuff configuring together i just picked a few specs i liked, I will do more and more as i go :)
I'm really not into switching Processor to intel id rather stick to AMD, can anyone suggest some specs which would fit with my CPU which have a good value for money and stay within my price range? Thanks so much everything is really useful
