Has anyone seen or tried out Colocker data centre in Milton Keynes, UK? Seems they have a pretty unique product in that they are offering hosting in lockers instead of racks meaning any device can be used.

I like the idea because I have a couple of the HP N54L micro servers I got when they were doing the cash back promotion that I've never actually used and they charge per locker so I can host both of them for the same price. Bargain!

Can anyone tell me anything about them? I've booked a tour but it's always good to have the insider information in advance.

Thanks!

I actually followed some links from the Electromagnetic Field hacker camp website today and found out that Colocker were an event sponsor. Wish I had gone to the event, but at least all the talk videos are online. That led me to this vid about running your own infrastructure. Some great tips in there, and of course what better place to do it than at Colocker where you own the hardware yourself, meaning no chance of an ISP re-using your hard drive or accidentally giving access to your server to someone else.

For info: there are a few swear words in the video. Considering the quality of information in the vid it's not a big problem just maybe keep the sound low if you're watching in an office that cares about that stuff.

Hi. Yes I've been there a couple of months now. Great service for the price. I'm using a Mac Mini running KVM (virtualisation software) and sell a few instances to help cover the cost.

Yep, I have a locker there. The setup is really good, access is easy and 24hr, and connectivity is perfectly reliable.

PLus it's a lovely, cool air conditioned place on a hot day.

I work round the corner, met up with Chris and Neil ( top guys ) very committed to what they do, looking to get a locker for NAS backup's for work and a little space for me to run a web server / gaming server too.
