Hello, right now I have a gt 640, and I need to upgrade that immediately. I was looking at the gtx 760 or 770. Which one would be best to get? Also, what do I need to know before purchasing one, stuff like a new power supply for the wattage? For the 770 I know I need a minimum of 600W and for the 760 I know its 500. Could you recommend me a good power supply as well? By the way, my computer is a Dell XPS 8700 which I bought awhile ago.

Specs:
8GB Ram
Gefore GT 640
Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40 GHz

You're on the right track with the PSU concern. Use this tiered list to find a PSU of good quality. Try to stay in the 1st 2 tiers if possible, the 3rd tier at most.

If you have a budget you can spend on a PSU, let me know. I will try to find you a good PSU at that price range.
The current capacity of the +12V rail(s) and the total wattage that rail can handle are the most important thing when sizing for a gfx card.

Ok, im not exactly sure what power supplies will fit in my case, which is the DELL XPS 8700 stock case. But, that looks like a pretty good PSU. Also how many amps max on the 12v rail is the power supply you gave me and mine? Cant seem to see it
