Update: When I disable the Anti-Surge Protection, my computer still turns off a few times a day, I just no longer get the ASUS screen saying that the Anti-Surge Protection was triggered. When my computer "turns off" the lights in the computer remain on, and the fans remain spinning. I have to hit the switch on the power supply in order to get the computer to turn off all the way.

I’ve been getting this message a few times a day for the past 2 weeks. I tried disabling the feature in my bios, but after I disabled it, I would get random shutdowns a few times a day. (I do have a surge protector, thats on UPS)

Power Supply surges detected during the previous power on ASUS Anti-Surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power

Here are my voltage readings while idle

I checked my voltage readings in my bios, and they are very close to these.

Everything I've read has said to disable the feature, but once I did, I just started getting random shutdowns at both idle and under stress. Is there anything besides the PSU that could be causing this? Or should I just go ahead and get a replacement PSU?

Your power supply might be just fine. I wouldn't rely on Asus' anti-surge software and I say that as someone who has owned Asus motherboards on my last three builds. It is crapware at best.

You might want to see if there is a BIOS firmware update for the motherboard before spending cash replacing what might be a perfectly fine power supply.

I suspect the motherboard more than I suspect the power supply.

Thank for the reply, I will do a BIOS firmware update tonight first thing before I do anything else.

I did try disabling the Anti-Surge protection, and when I did, instead of giving me the screen saying the anti-surge protection triggered, my computer would just shut down. Although, when this happened, the lights in my computer, and the fans remained on until I turned the switch on the PSU.

Took a light to it last night and notice anything (I did do this with the MB still in the computer so its possible I missed something, if it comes to it I'll remove the MB and do a better job). I purchased this back in February of this year, so this shouldn't be the reason, but I won't rule it out until I figure it out.

I still haven't updated the bios firmware, I will do that tonight and update this thread.

Updated firmware, and swapped the PSU (I had a spare). Problem is still happening, is this now pointing to the MB?
